The Society Celebrates St George's Day

| This year our monthly meeting on April 23rd coincided with St George's Day, and it was decided that we should celebrate the occasion. Members were asked to wear read and white clothing and a special guest at the meeting was Rushden's Mayor, Councillor Mrs Gill Mercer. Our Vice-Chairman Greville Watson opened the meeting by welcoming the speaker, Susannah Marshall, and then reciting "Act 2 scene 1" from Shakespeare's Richard III. After the speaker's most informative and interesting talk, Councillor Mercer was invited to cut our special St. George's Day cake. | ||||||
